~ Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Yellow Submarine' 1969 FIRST PRESS mono vinyl LP!!
This particular pressing is considered to be VERY RARE! Around 1969, most people had moved onto listening to stereo records and investing in stereo equipment - including bands. Mono was quickly becoming obsolete. So much so, that the mono Yellow Submarine pressings were pressed in much smaller numbers than the stereo version. It also features a FIRST PRESS flipback sleeve with the Red Lines on the back and NO PRINTERS CREDIT on the bottom flipback, original Chiswick Music Salon sales sticker to rear, name Richard written in small letters above PMC 7070 to rear! Rare and hard to find in this condition, have played in its entirety and it plays very well indeed, a couple of clicks in places and light background noise primarily on run-ins, no sticks or jumps, still very vibrant Mono playback. Potential buyers more than welcome to view and listen before bidding, just e-mail for convenient time. Vinyl : Side 1 - A few light marks and faint non-feelable scratches. Currently rated as VERY GOOD-. Looks like it's been well-played but looked after and these vintage heavy LPs hold up superbly well. Label is EXCELLENT ~ virtually unmarked. Side 2 - same as Side 1 , just light marks, plays very similar with no major issues.
Sleeve: The original 'Red Lines' 1969 mono flipback sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition, if not better! The front of the laminated sleeve is intact and clean with a superb gloss and shine! It does have some very light ringwear, light creases to laminate. ALL EDGES ARE INTACT! Lovely edges with minimal wear, if any! The rear of the sleeve is clean but does have some writing in the top right - RICHARD in small letters and light staining. The flipbacks are intact and held down tightly with minimal creasing and light discolouration. There is also a few spots where there is some light creasing and discolouration towards the opening edge. Looks great though, considering its age! The pinched spine is EXCELLENT and square and 100% readable with just 4 small creases. Overall, a great original mono first press sleeve that is difficult to find intact!!

EXCELLENT: The record shows a few minor signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear, mild creasing and/or shelf rub
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable hairline surface marks. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without major defects is permissible
