WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Apple Records very first Hi-Fi Mono press released in Chile by Apple Records in 1970, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number APPLE-13, with hand etched matrix numbers 7XCE-21408 2 in Side A and 7XCE-21407 5 in Side B, with traditional Apple Records labels with 4-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

“Let It Be” was originally released in March 1970 in USA and UK and the same year we got this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and for George Martin as producer in both songs, with additional credits for EMI and Apple Records and play time of each song. If you know this single maybe you could have already noticed that here in Chile the sides are inverted, the Side A is for “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)” and the Side B is for “Let It Be”. This record wass released many times here in Chile and so you can find many different issues, so it’s hard to know which’s the first label. The first issue has 4-prong push-out center and the very first press of Chilean “Let It Be” is very easy to identify, the words “Lennon”, “McCartney” and “Una” (the complete text is “Lennon-McCartney Una Grab. E.M.I.”) are left alligned at left side and “E.M.I.” is at the center of the third line in Side A. All Chilean issues have an error in translation to Spanish of “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”, it says “Sabes Como Me Llamo (Mira El Número En EL Guía)” and the correct translation is “… En LA Guía”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this record by The Beatles ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, with “Let It Be” as Side B, a record almost never seen and now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time in this AUTHENTIC VERY FIRST PRESS, with Spanish-written song titles and UNIQUE ERROR!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Beatles and Apple Records!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, hairlines and soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with only minimal spindle hole wear, with the push-out center intact, most of the grade is given because it has the name of some past owner written with blue pen in both sides. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and occasional light clicks, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, almost same condition as Side A, but with some clicks and pops more evident, especially in the last minute and at the end of the song, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record, sure not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but with still a nice look, almost immaculate labels and still great sound quality after almost 50 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind the Spanish-written song titles in this MEGARARE PRESS and the fact that song “Let It Be” is the Side B, a record ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE. And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
