PCS 7070, 1969 dark green ‘Pathe Marconi’ French Apple record label.

A UK / French issue in original condition, featuring:

1. as was the norm at the time, the record features a UK sleeve / inner with a made in France, ‘Pathe Marconi’ record / record labels,

2. ‘deep groove’ record, particularly noticeable when the record / playing surfaces are ‘tilted’ to the light,

3.  a UK sleeve with ‘two black horizontal lines’ on the rear, these sleeves were the last to feature, ‘two horizontal lines’,

4. side one features a period, circa 1970, ‘dark green’, made in France, ‘Pathe Marconi’ record label,

5. comes with its original unusual double, ‘Patent no.’, ‘112, 5555’ and ‘107 2844’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The excellent unspoilt laminate has remained super glossy and has just one slight ‘thumb crease’ to the front. The spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The four corners of the sleeve have remained sharp.  The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained sharp. The rear of the sleeve has remained very clean and white. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original period plain white, unusual ‘double’, ‘Patent number’ inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is made of the quality period thick, grade of paper. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There are some age related marks to the inner sleeve. 

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent condition. Side two, there is a mark on track one on the first half so I will grade here as being in very good condition. There is a mark on track two on the second half so I will grade here as being in good condition. There is a mark over track six so I will grade here as being in good condition. The rest of side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the original period quality, 1960s/70s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The records matrix is: side one - C 062 0400 2A 21 and M6 264012, ‘machine etched’, also the ref. 7070 A is ‘hand etched’ onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two  - C 062 0400 2B 21 and M6 264013, ‘machine etched’, also the ref. 7070 B is ‘hand etched’ onto the ‘run off’ groove.

The mother / stampers are: ??

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent. Side two, I did hear some light ‘ticks’  on track one, otherwise the rest of side one plays excellent. The record plays with a full, powerful period ‘stereo’ sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent++ condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION. BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
