THE BEATLES from Liverpool the Beatles Box WORLD RECORDS 8LPs Box set!
Original UK 8LP box set, released in 1980, on the WORLD RECORDS Record label. The box set comprises of a 12-inch hinged picture box containing 8LPs, all with fully laminated sleeves and the original inner sleeves. Catalogue number: NONE ~ No catalogue number is provided with this set however the laminated record sleeves are numbered SM 701 through to SM 708 on the back sleeve’s top right hand corner.
Box: VERY GOOD+ CONDITION
The box has a hinged lid which opens out and displays the record numbers and the track listings on the inside lid. Box displays no major damage, however there is some light superficial wear evident. Some light edge wear in places, some light surface print scuffs to the bottom and corner edges and some light wear/fraying on the actual hinged seem on the back of the box, box print is lightly lifted and split in some places, however it is sturdy and still retains a strong feel, not loose and remains firmly attached to the box. Box displays no rips/tears and no corner or any edge splits. Overall graded as in VERY GOOD+ condition.
LP sleeves: EXCELLENT CONDITION
All the individual fully laminated record sleeve are in EXCELLENT condition (apart from sleeve for Record 1*), they are clean with no major wear or damage. They display no rips/tears, no edge wear, no seem splits and no sleeve creases (two of the sleeve No’s 2 & 4, do have a few small superficial front sleeve half-moon laminate lifts/creases). *The sleeve for record 1 does have a few light laminate creases across the top right hand side corner, hence graded VERY GOOD+ to accommodate, rest of the sleeve is EXCELLENT in appearance. All the inner sleeves that where originally included with the records have been replaced with modern ones. The reason for this is that some of the records when pulled out had a light oily surface film (owing to storage) and needed to be professionally cleaned and stored in a modern sleeve. However these have still been kept and are included for competition, there are five paper/poly lined sleeves and three paper ones, all these are in EXCELLENT condition apart from the paper inner sleeve from record eight, which has been written on and hence graded as VERY GOOD.
Records: EXCELLENT CONDITION
All the LP records appear in EXCELLENT condition, all the record labels are NEAR MINT, clean with no damage and only a few light faint spindle hole marks showing on some of the labels, but not on all. All the records playing surfaces and the matrix areas are in EXCELLENT condition, clean and with a glossy sheen throughout, some of the records displays some small smooth, ultra-light surface scuffs, mostly superficial fine line scuffs, which mainly only appear/show up when viewed closely and angled under a strong bright light.
