THE BEATLES-ABBEY ROAD TYPE SINGLE LP-STEREO LABEL/PRESSING INFO APPLE-RARE 1ST PRESSING WITH A SIDE MATRIX NUMBER YEX 749 A-3U.This number was reserved for the export pressings and is normally only found on the P-PCS Yellow & Black copies,but true to form EMI managed to press a few on Apple labels by mistake.Also in my opinion the A label is much more of a vivid green than standard pressings,and being a 1st press the side 2 matrix is YEX 750-1 and the label omits any mention of "Her Majesty",and the EMI stampers are 1O/10RHH CATALOGUE NUMBER PCS 7088 YEAR OF RELEASE 1969 COUNTRY OF RELEASE U.K. SLEEVE TYPE SINGLE GARROD & LOFTHOUSE FULLY LAMINATED WITH INLINE APPLE LOGO INSERTS/EXTRAS ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s) NICE EXCELLENT+ (NICE CLEAN copy with hardly a mark on it and plays really well throughout with a nice crisp and clear sound LABELS

SLEEVEFront board EX+ CLEAN with NO rips tears or stickers,the laminate is bright and shiny with no ringwear just a little very light rubbing wear and light creasing Rear board EX+ MUCH as the front board.Clean shiny and unmarked with just very light ageing Flipbacks N/A N/A Spine EX CLEAN with clear lettering,there is a small neat piece of tape to the middle which appears to be covering a bit of rubbing wear. Top & bottom edge EX TOP edge has just light wear,bottom has some small nicks to the laminate in places along its length Opening EX+ Opening has just light wear and very light usage Corners EX ALL 4 corners have some wear,light at the spine ends heavier at the top and bottom of the opening which has some rounding. DETAILSThe last Beatles album to be recorded (although Let It Be was the last to be released), Abbey Road was a fitting swan song for the group, echoing some of the faux-conceptual forms of Sgt. Pepper, but featuring stronger compositions and more rock-oriented ensemble work. The group was still pushing forward in all facets of its art, whether devising some of the greatest harmonies to be heard on any rock record (especially on "Because"), constructing a medley of songs/vignettes that covered much of side two, adding subtle touches of Moog synthesizer, or crafting furious guitar-heavy rock ("The End," "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," "Come Together"). George Harrison also blossomed into a major songwriter, contributing the buoyant "Here Comes the Sun" and the supremely melodic ballad "Something," the latter of which became the first Harrison-penned Beatles hit. Whether Abbey Road is the Beatles' best work is debatable, but it's certainly the most immaculately produced (with the possible exception of Sgt. Pepper) and most tightly constructed.
