CATALOGUE NUMBER PMC 7027 YEAR OF RELEASE 1967 COUNTRY OF RELEASE U.K. SLEEVE TYPE GATEFOLD - GARROD & LOFTHOUSE FULLY LAMINATED WITH INTERNAL FLIPBACKS and the misprint on the rear with title of "WITH A LITTLE HELP" printed as "A LITTLE HELP" and then printed again immediately underneath. INSERTS/EXTRAS RED AND WHITE "FOOLS" INNER + CARD SHEET OF CUTOUTS - plus an article from the Daily Express about the artwork that I found inside the sleeve, has no valuie or real importance, just adds to the overall feel of the package so I have included it. GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s) NICE EXCELLENT+ ( NICE CLEAN record pressed on mid 60's heavyweight vinyl and which hasn't been played VERY MUCH at all and is nice shiny and black with MINIMAL playwear and just a handful of VERY LIGHT handling marks , the whole album plays GREAT with a great MONO reproduction) LABELSEXCELLENT+ ( NICE CLEAN LABELS with NO writing rips tears stickers or removal marks VERY LIGHT spindleusage and VERY LIGHT storage and handling wear)
SLEEVEFront board.Inner gatefold EX+ CLEAN and unmarked with NO writing rips tears writing stickers or removal marks.The front laminate is very bright and shiny with MINIMAL rubbing wear and VERY LIGHT handling wear, and minimal creasing.INNER GATEFOLD is clean and unmarked with VERY LIGHT ageing and handling wear, and has been so little used that it still doesnt open flat and you can hear the laminate cracking. Rear board EX+ REAR laminate is really clean and VERY SHINY with HARDLY any wear and just the HINT of a pressure mark. Flipbacks EX+ Internal flipbacks are complete and clean stuck fast with minimal wear. Spine EX+ Complete with complete lettering and no laminate loss or cracking, has abit of a crease mark in the centre Top & bottom edge EX+ Both top and bottom edges have MINIMAL wear with NO laminate wear or cracking Opening EX+ Openings have VERY LIGHT wear and MINIMAL usage Corners EX+ ALL 6 corners have LIGHT wear only INNER /EXTRAS
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+ (REALLY well preserved example, with NO writing rips tears edge splits or repairs, the main body has only VERY LIGHT usage and handling and the opening has VERY LIGHT wear only, when I received the album the record had been removed and stored in seperate sleeve and looks like it had been that way for a long time, I have kept it this way to preserve the condition.
CUTOUTS: EXCELLENT+ (CLEAN and unmarked with VERY LIGHT storage wear.)

DETAILSWith Revolver, the Beatles made the Great Leap Forward, reaching a previously unheard-of level of sophistication and fearless experimentation. Sgt. Pepper, in many ways, refines that breakthrough, as the Beatles consciously synthesized such disparate influences as psychedelia, art-song, classical music, rock & roll, and music hall, often in the course of one song.
Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita."
There's no discounting the individual contributions of each member or their producer, George Martin, but the preponderance of whimsy and self-conscious art gives the impression that Paul McCartney is the leader of the Lonely Hearts Club Band. He dominates the album in terms of compositions, setting the tone for the album with his unabashed melodicism and deviously clever arrangements.
In comparison, Lennon's contributions seem fewer, and a couple of them are a little slight but his major statements are stunning. "With a Little Help From My Friends" is the ideal Ringo tune, a rolling, friendly pop song that hides genuine Lennon anguish, à la "Help!"; "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" remains one of the touchstones of British psychedelia; and he's the mastermind behind the bulk of "A Day in the Life," a haunting number that skillfully blends Lennon's verse and chorus with McCartney's bridge.
It's possible to argue that there are better Beatles albums, yet no album is as historically important as this. After Sgt. Pepper, there were no rules to follow -- rock and pop bands could try anything, for better or worse. Ironically, few tried to achieve the sweeping, all-encompassing embrace of music as the Beatles did here.
