THE BEATLES-"YESTERDAY AND TODAY" CAPITOL T-2553 MONO, Released in 1966. The famous Butcher Cover. This copy is a west coast version 2nd State Paste-over in Mono. I did some research on this one because there are No dime size imprints at the open-end which usually denotes a west coast cover. Apparently what Capitol Records did was ship some of their #6 covers back to the Winchester Virginia facility to be re-covered. This might be one of those covers, But I'm not totally sure. The cover is in beautiful condition, No seam splits, No writing, On the spine there is a tiny little spot (See Photo). Light edge wear, Corners look nice, Upper right corner is pushed just a tiny bit, Backside lower left corner pushed just a tiny bit as well. Light shelf & handling wear, Just the slightest hint of ring wear on the front, A little bit more on the backside. The steamer trunk slick is off-centered to the right exposing the butcher cover to the left (Kinda Cool). The steamer Trunk slick is so transparent not only can you see Ringo's V neck, But you can see down to the bottom (Under Ringo) what's underneath. I would rate the cover at VG++. There we are, A nice Butcher Cover. The record has lot's of gloss and deep shine, Shows just a few scattered light Hairline scratches (Nothing Deep). Playgrades a very nice VG++ all the way. Both labels are NM-, No stickers, No writing. Come's in the original orange Capitol 66 inner sleeve with adds. Serial # PE-12-3BL. Inner sleeve has no splits, Beautiful! Maitrex Numbers-Side One T-1-2553-G-18 Stampe #1, Side Two-T-2-2553-F-17 Stampe #1. If anyone out there has more information about the Winchester covers, I would sure appreciate it.
