Description

This is a RARE 12" LP titled THE BELLE OF AMHERST. It features actress JULIE HARRIS in her Broadway role of poet EMILY DICKINSON. The one-woman play was adapted to television and presented on PBS by KCET/LOS ANGELES. The record is made up of excerpts from the play and interviews with four creative principals: Miss Harris, stage director Charles Nelson Reilly, the playwright and the producers. The first side goes behind the scenes of the PBS production and the second side focuses on Emily Dickinson's poetry and life.

Included with the LP is a Teacher's Guide, 4 ditto-masters which encompass a Dickinson biography and contributions of women to literature, 4 teacher response cards and a return envelope for student responses. This was issued by the Television Educational Unit of KCET in 1977.
