Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE ...many years ago limited edition that is considered to be one of the greatest of Crimson albums, the line up was the classic "Larks Tongues/Starless" '73-'74 crew which King Fripp dubbed as "frightning" ... And so this "frightning"crew of King Crimson is caught alive in a small club delivered in high quality soundboard audio ...recommended to ANY fans of the band as well as early '70s progressive collectors...

It should be noted this is the gatefold cover original issue with unique design inside the gatefold (see photos)

Certain voices have gone so far as to suggest THIS LP to be the “best ever” rendition of the CRIMSON beast from the '73 era. They have a point. As those spiky guitar arpeggios begin, the rhythm section sprint off ahead, leaving Fripp fighting to stay on the back of the tiger on a turbo-charged gallop. As Wetton turns in an astonishing bass solo, Fripp heralds his guitar break with a pre-echo of Industry’s doom and gloom theme. No really!
"Doctor Diamond" had been introduced earlier in the year as the new quartet KC took to the road in the UK and Europe. This early version of Dr. Diamond is notable as it contains a different arrangement with a section that appears to draw upon the jazzier style of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and for those with longer memories, East of Eden. The song would go through further stages of refinement on stage but with Wetton having to cram more words on the verses than your average dictionary, it’s perhaps no surprise that the song (whose principle riffs had been around since the earliest times of the Larks’ quintet line-up) never made it onto an official studio or live release at the time. The Spanish modes contained within the first improv make for exotic listening and the second improv – a gloriously spooky Mellotron-fest – would surely have made a great horror movie soundtrack. Despite the presence of a notable lighting-rig hum in the early stages of this  recording the band are on terrific form.

Overall, this is a fun set -- blasting, intense, quiet, rocking, loose, tight, and everything else. After "Dr. D." we get the entire Larks Tongue In Aspic" with differently performed versions (and a slightly different running order).  It should be emphasized that, contrary to the previous reviewer, Jamie Muir is NOT present -- he’d left the band around 5 months earlier. Let’s not shortchange Bill Bruford! He did a great job of keeping Muir’s manic energy and hazardous uncertaintly in the music, while also playing monstrous drums...
