THIS VERY RARE LP BY"THE BIG BOPPER" IS CALLED "CHANTILLY LACE" AND WAS RELEASED HERE IN AUSTRALIA ON THE BLACK AND GOLD MERCURY LABEL MG 20402.
IT IS AN ORIGINAL PRESSING!!!!.
THE BIG BOPPER WAS, OF COURSE, KILLED IN THE PLANE CRASH WHICH KILLED RITCHIE VALENS AND THE GRAND DADDY OF THEM ALL THE LATE GREAT BUDDY HOLLY ON 3RD FEBRUARY 1959.
THE TRACKS ARE ON THE SCAN AFTER MY SELLERS CONDITIONS.
THE LABELS ARE CLEAN AND CLEAR.
THE COVER IS IN VG++ CONDITION ON THE FRONT (REFER SCAN). ON THE BACK IT IS SHOWING SIGNS OF AGEING AND DISCOLOURATION. ALSO HAS A NAME ON THE TOP LHC.
THE RECORD IS IN VG+ CONDITION . THE ALBUM PLAYS ALL THE WAY THROUGH BUT DOES HAVE SOME CRACKLING ON QUITE A FEW OF THE TRACKS BUT THIS DOES NOT EFFECT PLAY. NICE AND LOUD AND CLEAR. HAS QUITE A FEW SURFACE MARKS ON BOTH SIDES.
I HAVE PLAYED SIDE ONE RIGHT THROUGH AND IT PLAYS WELL.
NB.For grading purposes I play side one of a 45 and EP and Track one side one on an LP. I also grade on perceived appearance.

I make decisions on pricing my records based on the following:
Their perceived appearance.
Their sound quality and then combine them for an overall grading.
If they are in their original sleeve as in some cases these are just as hard to find as the records such as Leedon, Down Under, Teen, Viking, Top Rank, London paper,Coronet etc etc .
My knowledge, if any, of the records rarity.
I use the English Record Collectors Magazines Guidelines for gradings as this appears to be the generally accepted term of reference with variances to + or minus.
Please check my feedback if you have any doubts about my gradings.
I expect Australian and New Zealand winners to pay within 8 days and overseas winners to pay within 21 days.
