THE BIRDS

DECCA ORIGINAL RELEASE 1965

F.12140

Condition

Record Side One : Fair+

Record Side Two : Fair

Sleeve : Very Good

I have played this through both sides and the audio is OK but with some background noise and the odd crackle and pop, considerable noise on run in and run out.  Under daylight on Side A Leaving Here there a number of marks and visible scratches.  Side B Next In Line has one deep scratch running through the song which you csn hear but it does not skip or jump.  The labels are very clean with little spindle wear. The Decca sleeve is very good.  The record has considerable warping but plays fine on my Michell Synchro with RB250 arm.

A rare record in fair condition for age.  The mint value is £75+ in the 2008 Record Collector Price Guide.

All my records are sent out in high quality thick card mailers just 1-2days after I receive payment.  I grade records as carefully as I can using the Record Collector UK Grading System.

I use the UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' gradings which are as follows:

  • MINT - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as SEALED or UNPLAYED should be MINT.

  • EXCELLENT - The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

  • VERY GOOD - The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without major defects is acceptable.

  • GOOD - The record has been played so much that the sound has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
  • FAIR - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, etc. The covera nd contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
