VERY IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ COMPLETELY: This is a USED record. The history, including how it has been cared for, how often it was played and in what environment, types and weights of stylus used, how it was cleaned...all are unknown to me.
This record is being evaluated VISUALLY ONLY unless otherwise noted. IT HAS NOT BEEN REVIEWED AURALLY unless the record is very rare and high in value, or has a very suspicious spot that looks like it could be a problem. (There are just not enough hours in the day to do so.) I am ONLY describing how the record LOOKS TO ME, not how it SOUNDS. Usually the sound is consistent with the appearance, (in other words, you will usually HEAR any significant visual imperfections, such as scratches). But I've seen records that appear near mint but have pops, clicks, and even skips; also records that look horrible but sound pretty decent. In some cases, there may be imperfections or foreign matter in the vinyl or grooves that are NOT visually apparent, and these may result in some level of audible imperfection as well. Vintage records are bound to have SOME amount of foreign sound, whether just a level of general background surface noise, or pops/clicks/etc.; mine are no exception. Most sellers evaluate their records visually just as I do (which is admittedly subjective, but at least it is not as subjective as an aural evaluation), but I am making this explicitly clear, so that there is no misunderstanding and post-sale disagreement; THERE ARE NO RETURNS, and return requests will NOT be approved. (I cannot economically offer records for less than $10 when accepting returns would cost me $8 in shipping alone; it is just not workable financially). This is just like buying a record at your friendly home-town used record store; you look at it under good light, make your decision, and take it home. I've never seen a store that offers cash refunds on used records.
Again, this is a USED record. I will assign the letter grade that I feel most closely identifies the visual condition, and also note SOME, but obviously not ALL, of the MOST OBVIOUS imperfections that account for that grade. (I'm not going to count the hairlines, for example). If there are ANY questions about grading, please contact me well before the end of the auction. If you are not comfortable purchasing a record that is visually assessed and has not been listened to by the seller, or under terms in which there are NO RETURNS, then you may be better off buying elsewhere. If you are international, make sure you review shipping terms.
Grading scale for all records is: NearMint (highest grade used on an opened record) / EXcellent / VG+ / VG / VG- /G. NM records show only the faintest signs of use, maybe a very faint hairline or paper slide shadows, or may appear as new. EX records may show a few more faint marks/hairlines, shadows or residue. VG+ and VG records may have light to readily visible marks, scuffs and hairlines, still decent but progressively showing more wear as you go down the scale. VG- and G records are approaching/reaching the "placeholder/filler copy" category, and will have progressively more scratches and other defects as you reach the bottom grade.
HAIRLINES are very faint, short, wispy marks, usually only visible under very bright light or sunlight SHADOWS are the surface scuffs that occur when records rub against the edge of the inner sleeve. Usually only visible under bright light and when holding record at certain angles. RESIDUE is the acid etching that occurs/transfers to the record sitting against the paper inner sleeve. MINOR SCRATCHES are light marks that can be felt with a fingernail.
Payment is requested within 3 days unless combining, and I will combine for up to 1 week....just let me know. If there has been NO communication after 3 days, an unpaid item case will open.
US shipping $3.99 by Media Mail. Add'l records from other listings in same shipment $1.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS READ CAREFULLY: International shipping is via the new Ebay Global Shipping Program. This is a good deal, as the cost is a few dollars more than First Class mail, but tracking and insurance is included. Input your country into the "shipping detail" section for rates. Ebay will provide an invoice at end of auction. DO NOT try to circumvent this method of shipping by requesting an invoice. I WILL NOT SHIP BY ANY MEANS OTHER THAN THIS PROGRAM. THE TRANSACTION WILL BE CANCELLED. If your country is NOT part of this program, I will ONLY ship via Priority Mail INSURED, which is not cheap; probably $40 for 1 LP. Please bid ONLY if this is agreed/understood.
