MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Island Records very first Stereo press released by Island Records, made, produced, made and distributed in Chile in 1980 by Quatro Ltda. (Quatro Records), licensed from Island Records, Ltd., England, catalog number IS 10024, with hand etched matrix numbers IS-10024-A in Side A and IS-10024B in Side B, with orange/black Island Records labels, with traditional design of the blue sea and the green palm tree of the period in Chile, and solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to tell about this MEGARARE SINGLE is that it was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, in 1980, including the songs “Clean, Clean!”, originally released in March 1980 (with “Technopop” as Side B) in Side A and “Elstree”, originally released in September 1980 (with “Johnny On The Monorail” as Side B) in Side B. Song titles are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters and production, with additional information about licenses and play time of each song. If you know this single you can also notice that “Clean, Clean!” keeps the song title used in the LP “The Age Of Plastic”, with “!”, in original single issues the song title is only “Clean, Clean”. And the version of “Elstree” is the full-length album version of “4:25” minutes. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE CHILEAN SINGLE by The Buggles RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE, a record almost never seen and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time and in great condition, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Buggles and New Wave/Pop/Electronic music of early ‘80’s!!! WOW!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with some soft scuffs, light hairlines and very light scratches, hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great NM or NM+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with not even spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong EX+ or even NM- condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional light crackles here and there, more evident in the first and last seconds of the song, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side B, almost same condition as Side A but with a soft background noise and occasional light crackles a bit more present, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE and UNIQUE CHILEAN PRESS, with a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and with great sound quality after about 41 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any collector who know the real level of rarity of this Chilean single!!! And don’t forget this single with these songs as sides A and B was ONLY RELEASED HERE IN CHILE!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
