Description
THE CAN - MONSTER MOVIE (MADE IN A CASTLE WITH BETTER EQUIPMENT)
A very nice copy of this groundbreaking 1969 UK 1st press krautrock rarity
Year/Label : 1969 UK UNITED ARTISTS Label number : UAS 29094 Matrix numbers : UAS 29094 A - 1, UAS 29094 B - 1 Stampers : 1 A / 1RSolid very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - flat and weighty and retaining it's original impressive jet black sheen, and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just a few wispy hairlines and the very occasional very small and extremely fine paper scuff can be identified, along with a 4cm slightly more obvious but still very light & faint 4cm line scuff on side 1 (see photo)...each non-feelable and each appearing to be purely superficial. The labels are in excellent (EX) condition - just a few small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each and when tilted at the correct angle in a good light some very minor age "spotting" can be seen on each label - again, trivial but it's there. Again a solid very good plus (VG+) condition UK MacNeill Press outer sleeve, laminated on the front side. The edges are firm with no scuffing, including a firm spine with all spine text perfectly intact, the corners remain nicely defined right angles with no rubbing, the opening edges are also firm with no fraying, and all art work and reverse side photo and text are excellent. The blemishes are some very mild ring wear on the reverse side, some minor laminate crinkles towards the front-side top edge and bottom left corner along with some equally minor laminate lifting in that same corner, and some sporadic and very mild surface handling/storage marks on the reverse side - please do take a close look at my photos where I have tried to give a fair and accurate representation of the overall condition of this iconic sleeve, which remains fully functional and highly presentable. Truly excellent (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion or background crackle - great tone, wonderful clarity and a great listen throughout. I did detect x7 very, very light clicks about 2 minutes into B1 where very close inspection revealed a tiny non-feelable hairline which I'm assuming is the cause, but this very minor aberration does not impinge upon what is a great listen. Comes with original and excellent (EX) condition plain white inner sleeve, complete with "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" horizontal text with no splits, no edge fraying, no unwanted writing, and barely any creasing or age discolouration. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A truly impressive condition copy of this 1969 UK 1st press kraut rock/prog groundbreaker.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 55 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window!
