The thing I liked most about Robert Palmer was his ability to be original and diverse. "Addictions, Vol. 1" encapsulates his unique talent, a talent that was underrated and will be missed by all his fans. One listen to this ALBUM and you can easily tell that you are listening to a one of a kind musical stylist. You have all of his big hits with the exclusion of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" and "Get It On (Bang A Gong)" (which appeared on "Addictions, Vol. 2" in 1992).   

"Addiction's Vol. 1" is the perfect collection. You have Robert Palmer the rock and roller on "Bad Case Of Loving You", "Addicted To Love", "Simply Irresistable" and "Some Like It Hot". You have Robert Palmer the World Music maestro on "Pride", "Woke Up Laughing" and "What's It Take?" You have Robert Palmer the new wave specialist on tracks "Looking For Clues", "Johnny & Mary" and "Style Kills". You have Robert Palmer the crooner on "Sweet Lies", "Some Guys Have All The Luck" and one of his most timeless pieces of work "Every Kinda People".    Remember a sophisticated and admirable talent such as Robert Palmer. R.I.P. 1949-2003.

 I find this LP to be vastly superior to their studio stuff. I think Red Skies is particularly great, and most of the other cuts (with the exception of the two studio cuts) come off with a lot more energy than the studio stuff. My favorite Fixx LP!

THE BABYS - ANTHOLOGY - I always liked this group from day one! John Waite has an excellent voice and it didin't surprise me that he was successful as a solo artist in the 80's. The Baby's put out excellent ballads such as "Isn't It Time" and "Everytime I think of You" (both big hits) as well as great rock n' roll. Songs such as "Head First", "Love Don't Prove I'm Right", and "Back On My Feet Again" (to mention a few) are extremely catchy and very radio friendly. The Baby's (in my opinion) never really made it as big as they should have, but atleast they left us with some great songs and a nice collection of l.p.'s as well. Highly Recommended!

The Cars had kind of two personalities over their career: the pop hits like "Drive" and "Shake it Up" and the album tracks that classic rock radio still plays like "Moving in Stereo" and "You're All I've Got Tonight".  All the Top 40 hits are here...   The legendary alternative rockers The Cars set the music world on fire back in 1977 with their superstar brand of rock and roll.
