WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Odeon Records very first High Fidelity STEREO press released by Odeon Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1971 by Industrias Electricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records, Chile), catalog number (S)LDC-36756, with matrix numbers 5C-054-24320 A 2. 4 in Side A and 5C (“C” looks like an “e”) 054 24320 B/1 4 in Side B, with traditional green/black Odeon Records labels of the period, with big boxed Odeon logo at top and small boxed EMI logo at the bottom. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“TAKE ME WITH YOU” is the fifth album by The Cats (included the first compilation of the band), originally released in Holland in 1970, and we had to wait until 1971 to see this album released here in Chile and, like usual in the period, we got it with a UNIQUE NON-GATEFOLD COVER, made of two single pieces of thin cardboard or thick paper, with two sheets of paper attached to the cardboards and kept all held by an outer plastic bag, which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps strictly the original Dutch artwork and design, with the orange-tinted picture of the band at the bus stop, with the only differences that in Chile it’s the double boxed EMI and Odeon Records logos at top right corner and the album title, which’s “MARIAN” in Chile, at bottom edge. Back cover is totally different, it has the same picture of front cover but black and white only, with the same name of The Band and album title design, with tracklist written in English, translated to Spanish, except songs “Irish” and “Marian”, which are written in original language only (even though “Irish” has translation to Spanish, “Irlandés”), with full credits for songwriters and play time of each song, with additional full credits for the album personnel and members of the band, and information about licenses, with double boxed Odeon and EMI Records logos and catalog number at top right corner. In labels, the tracklist is written in English only, with full credits of songwriters, and additional information about licenses. If you know this album then you could have already noticed that here in Chile the matrix numbers keep the original Dutch catalog number, “5C-054-24320”, but here in Chile in this album was included the song “Marian” (the biggest hit by The Cats in Chile) instead original “I Love You, I do” included in original “Take Me With You”. As far as I know, this edited version of “Take Me With You”, with title “Marian” and including song “Marian” was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this album, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE and UNIQUE (or EDITED TRACKLIST), with Spanish-written song titles, a record known but rarely seen. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Dutch Pop/Rock and Beat music, and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Cats!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in nice EX- or even EX condition, clear and clean, with some wear in all edges, more evident in corners, with some faint creases and also faint ring marks, but complete and free of other marks. The outer plastic bag was removed and some past owner used other plastic bag, which has many creases, but as you can see it’s complete and clean, so I guess it’s a very good idea to keep it because it has protected the so fragile papers very well. The record is in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, clean, clear and glossy, with many scuffs, soft and not so soft hairlines and very light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in EX+ or even NM- condition on both sides, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and occasional light clicks and pops here and there, more evident in some silent parts and in song “Take Me With You”, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clean sound this record keeps from the beginning to end. Overall, this is a great album in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with UNIQUE COVER, with UNIQUE BACK COVER, with UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE and UNIQUE TRACKLIST, ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and with Spanish-written song titles, for sure not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, especially considering the cover and the look of the record, but for sure with still a very nice complete and clean cover and with the record with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 53 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean issue!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

PAYMENT
