THE CHECKMATES "Sould Out" LP Original 1977 small label pressing on the GUCCI Label Beverly Hills, CA. Cat# G301 This is the same Gucci label that put out the "Bare Knuckles" Soundtrack !!! This is only the 2nd copy I have ever had. Cover: VG++ (has small stain bottom left corner back. No seam splits) Vinyl: VG++ (Strong VG++ almost near mint but has some very light paper scuffs) SUPER NICE CLEAN COPY of this VERY RARE SOUL LP. This album is a blend of sweet soul with lush strings and some harder funk tracks and even includes a chunky drumbreak at the beginning of "God, Love and Rock 'N' Roll". There are a bunch of intro's / interludes that are cool spoken word poetry accompanied by an acoustic guitar. (I believe the inner labels are on the wrong sides) Side 1: All Going Down Together, My Girl, Mary Was Born On The Bayou, Walk On By, Macarthur Park, Sweet Caroline. Side 2: If You Were My Woman, I'm I Said, All That I am, Turn Back The Hands Of Time, God, Love and Rock 'N' Roll.
