THE CHELSEA FOOTBALL TEAM...Blue Is The Colour vinyl LP. Released on the now defunct PENNY FARTHING label as part of their Trophy Series in 1972: PELS 528.
Great fun record for any Chelsea fan. Peter Osgood not content with being a great forward also proves on this album that he had a decent singing voice too. Probably my favourite track is ‘Alouette’....a bit of a knees-up, pub sing a long type of thing... the lead singer does a great job here.. not sure who it is though. The reverse of the cover is a picture of a ball with the printed signatures of the Chelsea squad at that time. This is a fantastic memento from probably one of the best British sides in living memory.
Please note that I play check records before listing and also use the ‘Record Collector’ magazine grading system for reference.
Vinyl audio quality: EX+ Both sides of the disc play through fine. Really superb listening quality. The record doesn’t seem to have been played very much at all! No major issues/problems whatsoever.
Vinyl visual quality: EX Lovely bright sheen to both sides of the vinyl record. No obvious marks or scuffs are visible and absolutely no ‘feelable’ scratches. Only when the disc is ‘angled’ under a good strong light are one or two extremely small, light scuffs and some hairline type marks visible.
Album cover: VG+/ VG The front and back glossy cover is in very good all round condition. There are no pen marks. There is no price sticker residue. There are no seam splits. There isn’t much evidence of shelf wear along the top and bottom edges and there is only very minimal scuffing at the corners. There isn’t much fraying at the mouth of the cover ( where the vinyl goes in). There are some small creases towards the edges and spine of the cover and the laminate has lifted a little in a small quite narrow band towards the top left hand corner on the front of the cover and also on the reverse of the cover to the right of the track list. The spine has a number of dents along it’s length and also has a small scuff which has damaged part of the printed info on it ( see photo 8...and look along the spine). The inner sleeve is just the white paper ,cellophane lined type. It’s intact...just a little creased and yellowed.
Labels: EX Both labels are in excellent ,virtually unblemished condition.
