Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by The Crickets, The Chirping Crickets. This of course features Buddy Holly.

This was released by Coral records in 1958 and has catalogue number LVA9081. This is the 2nd press with Coral labels & sleeve.

Condition: The sleeve has some mild discolouring marks on the rear, a few lamination creases, buffing to the very corners and a little indentation to the rear bottom flipback edge. Spine & edges fine, no tears, bends, mouth fine, lamination at mouth fine, complete and graded at a conservative VG. Please check the pictures certainly not a bad sleeve.

This comes with its original 'patents pending' inner sleeve.

Both labels are clean other than spider spindle trails seen under closer examination. The centre hole is fine and shows little signs of wear.

The vinyl retains its near new shine, numerous feather scratches can be seen, mostly under a strong light. I have play tested this through both sides and it plays very well indeed. A few crackles / pops can be heard in the break and leading into track 2 on side 1, otherwise it plays with very little lessening in sound quality with only the odd very quiet crackle / pop heard. Clean break and entries, the music itself plays strong with no distortion or fading heard whatsoever. This record is graded at VG. down-graded for the touch of feckling heard in a couple of places and because it has been played more than a few times.

This is certainly a little better than a gap filler and a worthy addition to any collection, this plays very well and is probably a little better than the grades for both sleeve and vinyl suggest.
