MAPLE RECORDS, catalogue no. 1000
A infectious Northern Soul stomper with funky overtones.
Visually the grooves look clean, but there’s a bit of surface noise on the run-in and run-out grooves, some tics, and, grievously, a skip about 10 seconds in on the A side (this might just be dust). In all, it has to be the Record Collector grade of -
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Clean labels. Bears the legend, ‘PROMOTION COPY NOT FOR SALE’. No centre, as is customary on US 45s. It comes in a plain white sleeve.
