Here we have a little bobby dazzler.
It’s The Clash with Complete Control and The City Of The Dead on a Vinyl 7" PROMO Single, number CBS S CBS 5664
It was released on 23 Sept 1977
Picture the scene..
There I was, approx 45 years ago, flipping through the cheap sales box in “Rock On” the legendary Camden record emporium, along with all the other record nerds.
The hairy fellow behind the counter was playing some GREAT stuff through the shop’s fairly decent sound system.
Then he played “Complete Control” by The Clash.
This was the first time any of us had heard it, and we all immediately made a dash to the counter to buy it.
Everybody else got there before me.
So, I “had to settle for” the PROMO copy which was the only one left in the box.
Here it is on sale again, to earn a few bob for the rescued wildlife of Somerset (see charity details).
It’s a great shambolic wonderful record and was produced by the great shambolic wonderful “differently sane” Lee Perry.
The SLEEVE is complete and un-written on. It has storage damage across the opening edge (acceptable.. see photo).
The DISC is nice and clean and plays very well. I would rate it conservatively (and it’s the only thing I ever do conservatively) as a good solid useful VG+++ or better.
Bid now, or suffer everlasting pangs of regret.

than I paid for it.
What a great business plan (I don't think)!
