Considered a psychedelic masterpiece, this 1974 private pressing is insanely hard to find and this is a beautiful copy. Other than a bit of light edge wear which doesn’t affect the presentation of this LP, this is a MONSTA collectible. In fact, I am stunned that the other eBay copy is only $40 but what the hey.
If you collect psych, you NEED The Collective Star. And do NOT accept a CD if one exists (I couldn’t find one but that doesn’t mean a boot or an indie CD doesn’t exist ….. but you know me – I say, stay with the original sound that the artist wanted you to hear and not the tinny digitized “wall of slick” that the purveyors of CDs provide. Nuff said.
BTW, The Collective Star was basically Paul Silbey with a host of insanely obscure, cool and excellent musicians (and instruments).
Stored vertically in a smoke free environment for 42 years.
