The Conqueroo - From the Vulcan Gas Company (5 Hours Back TOCK 008), 1987.
Beautifully packaged and meticulously well-done UK pressing of 1967 tracks from The Conqueroo out of Austin, Texas. Extensive liner notes by Edwin Pouncey & Pete Flanagan. Beautiful reproductions of Vulcan Gas Company posters on the rear cover. The Conqueroo recorded, at that time ('67-'68) for the legendary (and tiny) Sonobeat label, whose miniscule output included Johnny Winter's first album ("Progressive Blues Experiment") and the mythical Mariani's "Perpetuum Mobile". These tracks are live recordings from the Vulcan Gas Company (Austin's answer to The Fillmore) and from Pacific High in San Francisco. Band members: Bob Brown, Ed Guinn, Charlie Pritchard, Gerry Storm, Alvin Sykes, Daryl Rutherford. This record, lovingly prepared in 1987, is now older than the recordings featured herein were when this album was released. A true collector's item.
Cover and record are both Near Mint, super clean.
