THE CRAMPS - Gravest Hits - Lp 1979 Near-Mint

$

62

1979 12" on IRS records by The Cramps entitled "Gravest Hits", no bar code on back. Vinyl is Near-Mint and the cover is between NM and Excellent. Nothing wrong with it, just minor shelf wear.

Notes: Conjuring a fiendish witches' brew of primal rockabilly, grease-stained '60s garage rock, vintage monster movies, perverse and glistening sex, and the detritus and effluvia of 50 years of American pop culture, the Cramps are a truly American creation much in the manner of the Cadillac, the White Castle hamburger, the Fender Stratocaster, and Jayne Mansfield. Often imitated, but never with the same psychic resonance as the original, the Cramps celebrate all that is dirty and gaudy with a perverse joy that draws in listeners with its fleshy decadence, not unlike an enchanted gingerbread house on the Las Vegas strip. The entire psychobilly scene would be unthinkable without them, and their prescient celebration of the echoey menace of first-generation rock & roll had a primal (if little acknowledged) influence on the rockabilly revival and the later roots rock movement.

** I will be listing a ton of great Lps and CDs (plus a few odds and ends) over the next few weeks. Lots of Punk, Post Punk, Indie, Psych, Rock, Jazz, Soul etc. I also combine shipping if you buy more than 1 item. **

PAYMENT: I accept Paypal, Checks and other forms of payment that Ebay won't let me list since they own Paypal and want you to use it. Greedy, greedy. International bidders must use paypal or contact me if you want to pay in other forms.

GRADING: I ususally only Use Near-Mint (Like New), Excellent (Close to Near-Mint but maybe a few slight marks on the vinyl or general shelfwear to the cover) and Very Good (don't sell VG records unless they are older or hard to find - some may fall in between VG and Excellent and I'll try to note this. Sometimes I'll play the lp first if I think it may be VG or in between VG and Excellent.
