Description
I Fought The Law was written by Sony Curtis and recorded by The Crickets in May 1959 at Bell Sound Studio in New York. The personnel for the recording were: Sony Curtis (lead guitar), Joe Mauldin (bass), Jerry Allison (drums) and Henry Earl Sinks (vocal and rhythm guitar). The 1965 version by The Bobby Fuller Four appears at No. 177 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Curtis also wrote A Sweet Love, which was marketed as the A side in the UK. This is a rare demonstration sample of the 1961 UK release.

Vinyl condition: (Ex) glossy with general very light scuffing - 'I Fought The Law' also has a few wispy marks and a couple of small needle 'dinks', while 'A Sweet Love' also has a couple of wispy marks.
Playback: a nice clean sound apart from a couple of 'pops' near the end of 'I Fought The Law' and a couple of more random 'pops' on 'A Sweet Love' - a terrific sound!
Labels: 'I Fought The Law' has the letter 'A' marked in biro in two places (someone obviously decided this was the A side), while the reverse is clean.
Sleeve: the original Coral sleeve has age wear and a split in one side.
