THE CURE Ultra Rare 1985 VINTAGE VINYL LP 12" Record.
This is a rare item I am parting with. I admit with my fever for all things 'Cure" at the time I bought this record strictly because of the jacket. I thought Robert Smith looked too cool. Like Brain Ferry Cool. My favorite collector/dealer I knew offered this record to me at a hefty price but had put it on hold until he spoke with me. He had several people who left there names in case I didn't want it and another was waiting by the table at the record show. But I was a Cure fan and collector, I just had to have anything that everyone else wanted and was one of 500 ever made. It was mine. My wife never knew how much I spent at the monthly record shows.
I knew a lot of other Cure fans who desperately sought this record and once more I kept quiet that I had it for a long time. It didn't come in shrink wrap but it looked brand new with no apparent wear on the record sleeve. I don't believe I ever played it had an inner paper liner and when I finally removed the record from the jacket many months later I was pleasantly surprised to see the inner paper label contained two different photos of Robert Smith! I then filed it away with my other rare gems to brag about. I've long out grown that phase of my life and am now willing to part with it to someone with a hunger for obscure Cure records. The recording itself is of a show in Rome July 17, 1985. I had a tape recording of the show already so a record version didn't interest me.
Look at the photos for the set list. It has the usual 85 set which was always good but if you collect shows gets monotonous.
At the time I paid what was and is again a small fortune for it and I have never seen another nor met anyone who had a copy.
I will ship most anywhere and it will be in a record mailer for safety. If you are a serious Cure collector then this is for you ! Maybe you prefer to buy over priced colors vinyl or multiple mixes of songs. This isn't for you then it is for collectors only and that is whom I prefer to sell it to.
Note: I am selling off much of my record collection one record at a time on Ebay and in lots elsewhere. The next Album to be listed on Ebay after this set sells titles 'The Cure' but on the front it says "Sorry Robert, we can't stop this f*cking taping" The back says it is FM Broadcast of Berlin Dec. 2, 1985. One of 300 records made in "Suisse". The inner label is black. Another very rare Cure record.
I ship anywhere and do not take returns on records or photographs. This one is listed late to end late and give European fans a better chance at winning an auction.
