THE CYCLE “Magic Music” TOP! Rare original Canadian Pop Psych Rock lp M-

1973/Canada/Tamarac Records SKP 1004….. here’s a clean original pressing of this rare pop psych lp. The cover is in clean condition with light shelf soiling/wear, light corner wear, radio station sticker on front cover, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in glossy Excellent to M-condition with a handful of super light inaudible hairline sleeve scuffs/hairlines on side one and side one does have a bit of light occasional noise mainly between tracks. Side two is M- and plays clean with little noise and nice clean fidelity on both sides! The labels are clean with no spindle marks. A very nice copy of this rare lp. Paul Craig was a guitarist and singer who got his first break as frontman for Toronto's The Magic Cycle in 1966 with Stan Theriault, Pete Young, Joey Rome, Al Santa Lucia and Kevin Barry. They released their first single in 1967, "Let's Run Away", for Red Leaf Records. Several years passed of struggling on the circuit, releasing sporadic singles and finally deciding to augment their sound with keyboards by Peter Goodale.
By this time, the musical climate was changing - bands were simplifying their names and so, in 1970, The Magic Cycle became The Cycle and signed to Tamarac Records. Clinch released a solo single as Paul Craig called "Welcome To My Daydream" while the band released their self-titled debut album.
More struggling occurred over 3 years and Clinch recorded another solo single, "Don't Take The Sun Out Of My Life" as Paul Clinch in 1972 while The Cycle followed up with a series of singles and another album, 'Magic Music' in 1973, but by 1974 the band had folded

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
