I am thinning out some of the duplicates from my record collection...this one is the limited edition box set of singles by The Damned on Chiswick Records (UK).

Featuring Lemmy from Motörhead playing bass on a cover of Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz" (recorded during one of his stints with The Damned).  Also includes the elusive "White Rabbit" deleted release (another cover, Grace Slick/Jefferson Airplane), plus classic Damned singles "Love Song," "Smash It Up," "I Just Can't Be Happy Today," "Rabid/Seagulls," "The History of the World Part 1" and "There Ain't No Sanity Clause."  Rare and out-of-print songs combined with cool bonus goodies...can't beat that!

Destined as a Smash Hit until banished from the airways as too contentious for the fragile ears of the nation.  The sought-after Smash It Up sticker is reproduced for inclusion.

WHITE RABBIT Chiswick CHIS 130A (1980)
The most elusive item for Damned collectors is the withdrawn UK issue of White Rabbit.  These two single-sided test pressings replicate the only way it was pressed outside France and Germany.

Epic pitch at the charts with the young Hans Zimmer at the helm still goes to eleven and a half.  Included is an alternate photo of the front sleeve gravestone shot ready for framing.

THERE AIN'T NO SANITY CLAUSE Chiswick CHIS 139 (1980)
This promo coupling of their Christmas jollity based on the Marx Brothers' quip was the group's Chiswick swansong.  The promo features only two tracks, but was packed in a picture bag listing the third track used on the commercial release, 'Looking At You'.  Special Christmas card from the Damned included.
