Unveiled a mere nine months after their debut, album number two found The Damned in experimental mode, branching out from their own punk blueprint no sooner than it’d become a mainstream force.

With ambitious arrangements, complex structures and even a hint of sax, it’s fair to say Music For Pleasure wasn’t a universal hit.

Time, however, has served it well, and the record is now viewed as one of their key releases, an imaginative curveball delivered while the majority of the punk scene sped towards stagnation.
