Description
This is one of the RAREST LP's in the famed and highly collectable CAPITOL(CANADA) series of albums. This series was used for Canada only releases on CAPITOL, and included many of the so-called British Invasion pop groups and artists of the 1960's. The producers (primarily Paul White) recognized a good many of the future giants of that invasion prior to any interest by their U.S.A. parent company, including THE BEATLES. >p> And also including this famous group..THE DAVE CLARK FIVE. This lp was first devised and produced for Canada by Paul White in May of 1966. It "spotlighted the talent of the quintet as instrumental artists, in a variety of moods, with selections ranging from the type of arrangements you would expect to hear on the best FM radio programmes, to funky selections with jazz overtones, to wild, rip-roaring teen dance oriented compostitions."
The album was carefully packaged:" to suit all tastes", with the selections of FM style tunes (such as "Theme Without A Name") together on the first half of the album, and the funkier tunes and arrangements on the other side.
They are: (Side One) THEME WITHOUT A NAME, TIME, SWEET MEMORIES, WHEN I'M ALONE, BLUE MONDAY, DUM DEE DEE DUM and Side Two - OL' SOL, DUMPING, NO STOPPING, RUMBLE, MOVE ON and ON THE MOVE. Most were composed or co-composed by The Dave Clark Five (the exception being a great cover of Link WSray's "Rumble").
The CAPITOL (CANADA) 6000 Series Record number is T-6162 (mono) and it is in LIKE NEW condition. (There is a PROMOTIONAL COPY stamp on the left side of the back of the jacket.) . A SUPER-RARE DAVE CLARK FIVE collectable, moreso because it is in such pristine shape...cover AND vinyl lp.
