Up for bids: a RARE ORIGINAL ISSUE of the garage/psychedelic classic LP ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER LIFETIME by legendary California band THE DAVID!
STILL IN ORIGINAL SHRINKWRAP (torn, but present), this LP is dated 1967, VANCE Music Corp., VS 124 (stereo).
Outer jacket is made of heavy cardstock and shows only mild shelfwear around opening – NO rips, tears, cuts, splits or ringwear. Overall NM or at least an 8.5 out of 10.
Inner sleeve is plain, nothing to write home about here...
Vinyl, however, is exceptional. Only very light hairlining, couple of very light scratches to each side that do NOT affect playback. NO skips and only minor background hiss anywhere on the record. I've heard records pressed last year that don't sound this good! Overall NM- or, again, about 8.5 out of 10.
(We all know how much of a beating most older rock records take. Finding one that plays AT ALL is a rarity, let alone one this nice. Don't let it slip away!)
This is a highly sought record, often reissued (and even those are NOT cheap!) and full of great garage/psych tracks by a very young band (I read a remark from the band's guitarist claiming they were all between 14 and 16 years old when this was recorded!). Some songs are lighter than others, and there's a horn/strings vibe that reminds me occasionally of the DOORS, but with heavier guitars and none of Jim Morrison's prancing art-school whine.
