THE DEVIANTS The Deviants 1969 UK TRANSATLANTIC - BRIT PSYCH/GARAGE CLASSIC - NM

THE DEVIANTS
The Deviants

UK TRANSATLANTIC (TRA 204) FIRST PRESSING (October 1969)
AN OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL COPY OF THIS BRIT PSYCH/GARAGE CLASSIC

The Deviants (formerly The Social Deviants) were an English rock group active in the late 1960s, but until his death in 2013, used as a vehicle for the musical work of writer Mick Farren.
Farren has stated that The Deviants were originally a community band which "did things every now and then—it was a total assault thing with a great deal of inter-relation and interdependence".
Musically, Farren described their sound as "teeth-grinding, psychedelic rock" somewhere between The Stooges and The Mothers of Invention.
Often cited as a transition between classic British psych and the later punk/heavy metal aesthetic, after Farren left the band the remaining members (with Twink) became The Pink Fairies

LABELS: EXCELLENT+
Clean, unmarked labels - slight discolouration to the white - only light spindles
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT+
Both surfaces shine like-new - unmarked in normal light with just harmless wispy hairlines visible under bright light
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
My play-check at volume found practically nothing to fault the strong, loud, clear and sharp cut - just a touch of low-level surface on the run-ins and between a couple of the tracks - nothing at all really - sounds absolutely stunning - the finest copy I have ever had the pleasure of hearing and very, very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Crisp, sharp and fresh - little wear to speak of on the edges or spine (no spine text)
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Customised by the original owner which gives this copy a unique provenance - please see close-up photos
