THE DILS - DILS DILS DILS - LIMITED 500 EDITION YELLOW VINYL IMPORT


Original hardcore punk release from the vastly underated Dils.


Pretty soon after forming in late 1976, The  Dils relocated to San Francisco where punk rock was taking off big time and they would have a significant influence on that city's embryonic scene becoming one of the major bands to go and see live.


They were well known for their conspicuous radical left politics, and a strong melodic hard edged 'Clash type' punk sound.


Their debut single "I Hate The Rich", came out on Los Angeles-based label What? Records, and was released in 1977.


Their next record was the all too soon reached critical high-point of their career 1977's "Class War" a storming punk classic which was covered by Canadian hardcore punks D.O.A on their amazing war on 45 ep.


Now fixed on a firm upward trajectory The Dils opened for The Clash in Santa Monica in 1980, with Joe Strummer predicting great things for the band, unfortunately it just wasn't to be and later that year the band dissolved after playing a final show with Black Flag.


Although the band only had a brief spell under the spotlight they made a positive impression on everyone who was lucky enough to witness them live,......now with this quality release you can too......this is a fantastic collection of Studio demos, classic single cuts and of course Live performances.!


This is original American seventies punk, this is The Dils...!


I never tire of hearing The Dils so put this on full blast and annoy the neighbours, essential, absolutely f**king essential, complete with double sided lyric insert, just one light corner crease on cover - see photo.
