This Auction is for a very rare original Vinyl LP from 1967
THE DOORS
1st Album
ELEKTRA EKL- 4007 MONO 1967
Tracks are :- Side 1. Break On Through (To The Other Side), Soul Kitchen, The Crystal Ship, Twentieth Century Fox, Alabama Song, Light My Fire.
Side 2. Back Door Man, I Looked At You, End Of The Night, Take It As It Comes, The End.
The record is in a decent, well played condition. There are quite a few light surface marks on both sides, but there aren't any serious scratches or damage that are detrimental to the sound. I have played the LP, both sides and it plays really well and sounds superb. The mono sound is amazing, takes me back to all those years ago with my little Dansette Record Player. Much more realistic sound than the modern metallic CD type sounds.....really fitting with the Doors as it adds to the hypnotic feel of the music.
The labels are the original orange 1st press labels and are complete and undamaged.
The Matrix numbers are EKL4007 A & B (COL)
The unlaminated sleeve has a matt finish and is in very good overall condition. There is just a small amount of rubbing at the corners and outer edges. There are no rips or tears and the spine is still lovely and square with all the printing showing clearly. There are a couple of indentations on the front cover and what I would call a bit of general fading. It is quite a fragile picture on the front and being a matt finish tends to look a bit hazy and backgroundish. It is probably just gentle rubbing of the picture over the years giving a worn effect to the cover. For a cover/sleeve of this age, it really is very good.
A classic, original early pressing of the 1st Doors Album in v.good condition
