Up for auction is a monster rare US first pressing stereo LP by THE DOORS, titled L.A. WOMAN...released in 1971. A number of ebay listings claim to be selling the very first pressing of this highly collectible LP, and unfortunately some of the LPs simply are not true first pressing LPs...this one is the real deal...guaranteed!
Collectors of such know that the photo of the guys on the first pressing LP was originally made of clear cellophane, as this one is. Collectors also know that the trail-off on the A side has an A-1, and trail-off on the B side has a B-1, like this LP...please view the close-up images of each trail-off.
This LP would be the last LP that the legendary Jim Morrison would ever record, as he regretfully passed away in July, 1971. This is NOT a reissue LP, folks, and it is pristine condition.
The jacket receives a grade of NM- due to a bit of loss of color on the right side, but it is completely covered with the original factory shrink wrap...a sensational copy of a rare treasure. The yellow inner sleeve receives a grade of NM- due to two minor 1/4 inch tears at the top, which can easily be repaired...please have a look at the close-up image. The labels receive grades of MINT. The vinyl receives a grade of NM- due to minor rub marks and an extremely light scratch on the B side on RIDERS ON THE STORM that causes a few very faint clicks, but really not that big a deal. The sound receives a grade of NEAR MINT-...what a joy to listen to! I will ship this LP in a generic inner sleeve in an effort to further protect the original yellow inner sleeve.
