Description

The DOORS - MORRISON HOTEL

Lovely copy of this 1970 UK 1st press Doors gem with the truly excellent stereo sound quality being a real highlight

Year/Label : 1970 UK ELEKTRA Label number : EKS 75007 Matrix numbers : EKS 75007 A//1 420, EKS 75007 B//1 420 Stampers :  11 6  /  11 6
Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl (many would grade as "near mint", I am sure) - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "A1/B1" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as unmarked and even with close inspection under a bright light it is difficult to find fault - perhaps just one or two extremely fine paper scuffs but that's it - amazing! The labels are in similarly excellent plus (EX+) condition - with very close inspection it is possible to identify just a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect.  Clearly, this is a record that has been only very sparingly played.  The condition of the non-laminated MacNeill Press gatefold sleeve just warrants a very good plus (VG+) grading - each edge remains firm but there is mild scuffing on each with the scuffing covering virtually the entirety of the top and bottom back edges (no splits anywhere by the way). And again, the spine is rigid but does suffer from some intermittent scuffing including in the middle of the spine resulting in the "Morrison Hotel" text being illegible. The only other blemishes are just a couple of barely discernible small and very light storage/handling marks - very trivial. The opening edges remain firm with no fraying, there is no unwanted writing and the iconic art work, colours, photos, and text remain vibrant with great definition still with the interior of the gatefold in truly excellent condition.  Wonderful, excellent plus (EX+) sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion clicks or background crackle - great tone and crystal clear audio reproduction with terrific stereo sound quality throughout. What a wonderful LP this remains with every track a brilliant listen.  Comes with original very good plus (VG+) condition poly-lined inner sleeve, correctly dated ("1/0370) with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, a little mild age discolouration and just some mild occasional creasing towards the corners. (There is a name and date hand written in the bottom left corner of the reverse side).  Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    An overall lovely condition copy of this 1970 UK 1st press Doors classic with the gleaming little played vinyl and wonderful stereo sound quality being true highlights.
POSTAGE COSTS :

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits.
