Description
Amazing vintage Australian press box set of eight albums in Mint unplayed condition. Only 500 of these box sets made and this is numbered 142 of 500.
Covers are all mint, records are all mint and obviously not played.
The set was released in the 1980’s by a then well-known record store called Harlequin Records in Brisbane, Australia. It has a hand-numbered sticker on the back of the box 142 of 500.
Vinyl Grade: mint, as new, obviously not played. Note: all records spin with a wobble that does not affect playing (common with vintage box sets where records are not sitting straight upright and with time develop a wobble during storage, better to store individually outside the box in order to have them straight upright and firmly held)
Sound Quality: not played to check because they look mint unplayed and therefore sound quality will be as new, outstanding.
Covers: all mint, Morrison Hotel and Absolutely Live are gatefolds.
The Box: top lid has two seams split on right side, light storage wear, top has a tear see photo.
Eight albums - The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting for the Sun, Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel, Absolutely Live, LA Woman and An American Prayer. Comes with an insert biography.
Records graded directly under very bright table light for the visual grade. Sound quality checked by playing to ensure that visual grade and sound quality are consistent.
Mint M and Near Mint NM: Looks perfect as new. N and NM is only appropriate for new reissue records and not for vintage vinyl that has been played, regardless of how perfect it may look.
Excellent Plus +EX: Lovely gloss, no visible scratches, scuffs or marks. Has been played but has been handled well and still in great condition. (highest grade that I use for vintage vinyl)
Excellent EX: Lovely gloss, shows some slight signs of wear, including light trace/hairlines from the inner sleeve, light scuffs or very light marks that you would not expect to hear as surface noise.
Very Good Plus +VG: Shows a few more very light marks than is allowable for EX so not quite EX. These signs of use would be expected to cause some light surface noise but not to detract from the music.
Very Good VG: Shows light scratches and marks and some that you would expect to cause surface noise, especially in soft passages, between tracks and during a song?s intro and ending but not so much as to overpower the music which can still be enjoyed.
Very Good Minus -VG: Shows significant wear and marks that you would expect to cause noticeable surface noise that detracts from the music.
Good G: In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records lacking much of the original gloss and with many scratches and marks that you would expect to cause very noticeable surface noise and clicks/pops that seriously detract from enjoyment of the music.
