Description

"Strange Days" by The Doors. This is a very rare Mono issue on the Elektra label, EKL-4014. This album has the Gold labels. The record is housed in the very scarce custom picture/lyrics inner sleeve. This is a first pressing issued in 1967.
Matrix numbers: EKL-4014-A---EKL-4014-B.
This Mono record is housed in a Stereo cover.
Explanation: By the late Sixties virtually all U.S. record labels had ceased issuing Mono records in favor of the increasingly popular Stereo versions. The Elektra Records label in particular was famous for packaging Stereo records in Mono covers, and vice versa. However, an Elektra Mono record inside a Stereo cover from that period is considerably harder to find.  This particular Stereo cover is in Near Mint condition.

 Record Plays: VG / VG+, with some surface sound that does not adversely affect listening enjoyment.

Labels:  Mint minus.

Cover: Near Mint. Strong, clear graphics.

The picture/lyric inner sleeve has a 2" tear at the top and a 4" tear on the upper right side.
