Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by The Doors, The Doors. see pictures for track listing.

This was released on Elektra Records in 1967 and has catalogue number EKL4007. This is the 1st pressing with an orange label and is the rarer mono pressing.

Matrix Numbers- EKL 4007 A1     EKL 4007 B1

Condition: The laminated sleeve has the remains of a sticker on the top right corner, one scratch running from Jim's mouth in the picture to the botoom edge and some lamination creases mostly seen in the bottom right front corner. Lastly there is very light buffing to the very corners and a couple of places along the top edge. Spine, mouth & bottom edge ex, no tears, bends or creases, lamination at mouth ex. no fingering indentations to mouth. Please check the pictures a very nice sleeve and graded at a strict VG+.

Unusually this comes with its original green CBS patent inner sleeve that is in fine condition with a few light creases only, no edge splits or discolouring.

Labels: Both labels are clean and look new, under closer examination a few spider spindle trails can be seen on side 2 with side 1 having perhaps two spindle marks only. The centre hole on sdie 1 is perfect and shows no signs of wear, on side 2 there is two tiny picking marks at the very bottom of the centre hole, please check the pictures for clarification.

Vinyl- both sides retain there brand new shine, under the closest of examinations a few feather scratches can be seen. I have of course played this through both sides and was simply blown away by the sound quality, the above mentioned feather scratches are of course completely non-audible. 

Both sides have a quiet entry and go on to play with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Quiet introductions and breaks between tracks, the music itself plays strong and clear with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever, other than the very occasional very quiet crackle (probably dust) this plays as new. There is no lessening in sound quality through wear as this has been played a few times only.

This is comfortably graded at Near Mint and is one I strongly recommend for you collectors, complete with fine inner.
