One of the Doors best and, in-my-opinion most- overlooked albums; - I used to own a vinyl copy of this (I seem to remember) Double LP- Back in 1978- 79 my crew of friends and I- LOVED this album- When the Musics Over--(Turn out the Light) one of Jim Morrisons finest writing achievements , ' The Scream of the Butterfly' has been haunting me since first hearing it . Ray Manzanarek (the major talent who he was) Rocks the xmas- stuffing out of that Hammond or Farfisa- Great song which along with LP\DVD 'Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine' ,which transcends time and speaks to me at 50 as eloquently and hauntingly beautiful as when I was 18...co-incidentally,.I even had a hard time finding the Thumbnail of this LP for my Mp3 file of this tune: curioser and curiouser?!- Lost;-- but not on my watch...- Rock- On my Brothers and Sister Audiophiles. Oh...yeah...The End speaks for itself- and is the beginning (coincidentally) of a Famous and well Respected ,classic Hollywood great- Apocalypse Now.... Opening scene a hauntingly beautiful and iconic piece of film history by Dir. Frank Ford Coppola..Great film..quirky is good, and remember;...'This Ain't Rock and Roll ...This is "a 'Future Legend"...

In addition to being probably the finest Doors anthology in existence (and there have been tons of them over the past 30 years), this great compilation is remarkable for two other reasons: it features two tracks which were not available on any other Doors record at the time (except for some obscure singles' B-sides): Their incredible cover of Muddy Waters' "If you need meat (don't go no further)" and Jim Morrison's gentle "Who Scared You?". The other reason being that this is one of only two albums Elektra chose never to release on compact disc or in any other format.  A Must for any self-respecting Doors aficionado!  Finding a still sealed original copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
