THE DOORS "self-titled first" VINYL LP RECORD FIRST PRESSING ON ELEKTRA 1967.  *****IMPORTANT NOTES!!!!   the center label of this record is tan / gold, and on the label has the MONO matrix numbers EKL-4007 A/B. the DEAD WAX RUNOUT is etched with the MONO matrix numbers EKL-4007 A/B. ***HOWEVER the record is in a cover marked with the STEREO designation and matrix number EKS-74007. it is pretty clear though this is an original MONO pressing. the vinyl is in VERY GOOD physical condition or BETTER, VERY clean to the eye but there are some surface marks to each side,  sounds like it needs a deep clean (doesn't sound like groove wear to me). the cover is in GOOD condition and has many viible signs of rubbing and ringwear to the front and back, has some light creasing, but actually the cover is rigid and not a flimsy disaster, there are NO seam splits (AGAIN this isn't the right cover regardless), the ORIGINAL GOLD MULTIPLE "E" ELEKTRA paper sleeve is included and is in beautiful clean condition with NO seam splits but there is some creasing in the one corner.  ******BASED ON THESE FACTS AND THE PRECISE NATURE OF DOORS COLLECTORS PREFERENCES, THIS IS BEING LISTED AS AN AUCTION WITH NO RESERVE FOR THE RIGHT PERSON TO DETERMINE THE VALUE. it would make a great "parts" package if you need a MONO copy to work with or a gold E sleeve, or just want to own a MONO player copy and don't care about the cover.  *****PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME if you have any other details you'd like to know!

Genre: Rock Style: Psychedelic Rock Year: 1967 Notes: The first US stereo pressing was released on a "tan" label. Since it was cheaper to press the album in different plants in the US then to ship them across large areas, many small differences in the artwork on the labels can be found. This includes different fonts, different placing of the word "stereo" and colours varying from a coffee brown to pale gold. All these should be different entries in Discogs. Please look carefully at the label image before you decide to add the US pressing to your collection. Still later pressings have red labels and after that "butterfly" labels.
