Complete with Thickly Laminated 1st Press Garrod & Lofthouse Flipback 'Pleated Spine' Mono Sleeve!!! In Truly Breathtaking Ex Vinyl Condition!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings I have found.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist unless you own a time machine and go back and bag a job in a 1960's record pressing plant!) This record is very special indeed!!! You are bidding on THE  ORIGINAL EARLIEST UK Mono 1st Pressing (1G//1G Matrix) of The Electric Prunes 'Mass in F Minor'! This was the third LP from this very cool band and the last before session musicians came in and the band lost its psych feel forever. Although experimental, this is an awesome record!!! It is a reworking of the Catholic Mass by the awesome composer David Axelrod, but don't be put off by the subject matter as it features some awesome acid-freakout guitar breaks which sound awesome. In fact the 1st track Kyrie Eleison was used in the cult road movie 'Easy Rider'

However, what makes this 1st pressing even more special is that it is in superb EX Vinyl Condition with a full deep glossy sheen! I cannot begin to stress how rare this psych classic is to find in anything approaching this condition!!! It looks and plays pristinely!

The first thing you notice about this 1968 UK 1st pressing is its incredible thickness and weight - it is very, very heavy!!! Again, I cannot emphasise how very difficult it is to find Mono 1st press copies of this LP that have not been played to death, there were not many made and on the rare occasions that the do turn up they are full of nasty scratches and gouges. This one is NOT!!! It looks absolutely stunning with a deep shine and just has one or two of the faintest non-feelable hairlines. These are virtually invisible and in NO way detract from the fact that this this record has only seen very few plays on a turntable!!! The quality thick & chunky 1st press vinyl looks and sounds absolutely stunning!!! And remember - this is the earliest 1st Mono press, straight from the master sounding raw, louder, more defined and more punchy than all the weaker later re-pressings.  This plays absolutely beautifully. Having a clear, clean Mono sound is so important on this record due to the dynamics of the quiet almost choral music leading to the awesome psych freakout guitar parts. Anyways, It plays almost silently throughout with the the very occasional isolated low level in just a few places. It is beautiful It will grace any high grade any 1960's 1st press Psych/Beat collection and I have graded it as Excellent to account for the occasional tiny 'non feelable' hairline as mentioned above, otherwise it would easily grade Ex++ / Nr Mint!!!  Absolutely beautiful!!! The centre labels have no unwanted writing or scribbles at all!!! They just shoe some very mild discolouration and that's about it. The original 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback sleeve is in super condition!!! It has retained all it stiffness (not gone floppy and lifeless like most around today) and has NO Tears, No Seam Wear At All!!! There is obviously No Seam splitting but IT has some moderate feathering to the opening edge and a few isolated 'oxbow' type creases to the front laminate. There are NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There is a light ring-wear impression which is strictly limited to the front laminated side of the sleeve, as is typical, but it is still much better than most, if not all I have ever seen before!!! There is very little wear to the corners!!!  The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with and a MINT strong spine with perfectly legible spine text!!!  Not a mint cover but very nice and it easily grades as Very Good+!!!  Believe me, like all our other records this is in no way over-graded!!! A truly beautiful example of a very, very rare record!!! Don't miss this one!!!

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback.
