THE ESCAPADES - RARE 60'S GARAGE 45 - ARBET # 1010
- Artist: THE ESCAPADES
- Title: I TELL NO LIES / SHE'S THE KIND
- Label: ARBET # 1010/1011 - MONO
- Date: 1966
- Condition: VINYL - STRONG VG+, LABEL - STRONG VG+
- Add’’l Comments: RARE GARAGE ROCK FIND! THIS IS THE ESCAPADES ON THE SMALL MEMPHIS ARBET LABEL # 1010/1011. THE ESCAPADES WERE ONE OF THE MANY MEMPHIS GARAGE BANDS FROM THE 60'S TRYING TO GET A LABEL DEAL AND THEY WERE ABLE TO PUT ONE TOGETHER ON THE STRENGTH OF THE SONG, "I TELL NO LIES". HOWEVER, THEIR SHOT AT FAME WAS SHORT LIVED AND THE BAND BROKE UP IN 1968, PARTIALLY DUE TO THE DRAFT.
- THE VINYL SHOWS LIGHT OVERALL STACKING/STORAGE WEAR BUT PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY WITH THE VERY SLIGHTEST STATIC NOISE IN QUIET AREAS, BY NO MEANS OVERWHELMING. LABEL DISPLAYS GREAT WITH LIGHT SIGNS OF AGE WEAR. COLLECTORS OF RARE GARAGE MUSIC KNOW THIS ONE IS A 'GOTTA HAVE'!
- IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED RECORDS FROM US IN THE PAST, YOU KNOW OUR GRADING IS SPOT ON; IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST PURCHASE, CHECK OUT OUR FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE.
PLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!
We grade all vinyl according to the Goldmine standards which are as follows:Mint (M) - "These are absolutely perfect in every way."
Near Mint (NM) - "it looks like it just came from a retail store and was opened for the first time." NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers, or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any spindle marks from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable.
Very Good Plus (VG+) - These records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated play has not misshaped the center hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticed.
Very Good (VG) - These records have more obvious flaws. The lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches, deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, perhaps even an occasional audible light scratch, especially in soft passages and during a song’’s intro and ending.
Lesser grades such as Good (G), Good Plus (G+), or Very Good Minus (VG-) will be addressed at time of listing.
Thanks for Looking and Good Luck!
