Featuring: The Fabulous Thunderbirds recorded live at Auditorium Shores in Austin, TX. They are joined by special guests Bonnie Raitt, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe.

These are original discs sent to radio stations for broadcast. They were not made available to the public and are considered rare collectibles.
All of my discs are in "very good" to “like new” condition. Each record is in a plastic sleeve.
Very rare original promotional issue for radio use only. Pressed on dark translucent vinyl. These were produced in limited quantities as they were intended for broadcast use only, and most copies were destroyed after use. The radio programs include original music, random audio samples between songs to enhance the theme of each show, original commercials and/or exclusive interviews. They are very hard to find, especially in this condition. These belonged to a radio DJ that saved them from the trash can, and now you can have a rare original copy of a great radio show. Get it while you can.
The granddaddy of syndicated live radio concerts, The King Biscuit Flower Hour was carried on 100’s of rock radio stations across America from 1973 to 2007. New programs ceased in 1993 and after that, old shows were repeated. They were produced by D.I.R. Radio in New York City.
In the 70’s, the show was sent to radio stations on reel-to-reel tapes. In 1980, they began pressing them on vinyl and beginning in 1987, they were distributed on compact discs. The shows were accompanied by “cue sheets” that gave the disc jockey a written guideline of the content and length of each program segment. Most stations aired the shows on Sunday nights.
Although closely associated with Classic Rock, in its later years The King Biscuit Flower Hour started dedicating more air time to new and emerging artists. Often, old shows were recycled, combining content from past concerts into new shows that were packaged as double-bills and occasionally as group retrospectives. D.I.R. recorded the concerts with the same state-of-the-art mobile trucks that produced many of the great live albums of the 70’s and 80’s.
