Garage-Mind-Blower-Fuzz-Psych explosion?
1967 Orange label issue

No real info of who actually was in this band ...almost definitely the brainchild of Gene Norman himself, rumored to be in conjunction with Kim Fowley and Sky Saxon from THE SEEDS (sure sounds like his vocals on most tracks!) ...of course The Seeds were on GNP Crescendo for all of their 1960's records. This is heavier and rawer; with much more psychedelic guitar than The Seeds ever displayed. Nothing else exists (other records, bio's, photos, press...) to suggest that The Fire Escape ever really visited our planet - but man is it a wild trip of a dream!

GREAT all-around mix of originals and choice Garage/Psych/Punker covers: Talk Talk, 96 Tears, Fowley's The Trip, a couple of the Seeds' songs, done more ferociously, not to mention the title track itself and the most startling and juicy track: Love Special Delivery, one of my all-time favorite L.A. band tracks, as done originally by Latino Beat Garage heroes Thee Midnighters.

Produced by Larry Goldberg and Hank Levine for #1 PRODUCTIONS and
arranged by Michael Lloyd of the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
...and they aren't talking either.

No one denies it was an Exploito production - and no one cares - the album being so remarkable throughout - like stepping into the darkest, dirtiest, most acid-laced deep corner basement of The Sunset Strip at 3am in the hot summer of 1966.

VERY Nice copy...
