Description

You are bidding on an Excellent copy of The First Roxy Music Album, their debut (of course) on Atco Records. U.S. distribution of Roxy Music was transferred from Reprise to their affiliated company Atco in 1976, so this pressing is from 1976 (it transferred back to Reprise in the 80s). LP editions of the album pressed for Atco do not have the gatefold, but the gatefold editions do not have the LP's hit Virginia Plain and are pretty pricey. This LP does have the hit making it the definitive version of this great album. Every song is a gem and the quality of the Atco pressing is high, essentially as good as the Island version.
Don't get fooled into the reissues. The surface noise and the quality of the pressing is inferior. The box set is simply awful. Hear this LP the way it is supposed to be heard.
