Description

This is the first pressing original album KING 955.  This album is a collection of late 1950's and early 1960's hit records by a very important Rhythm & Blues group.  It was produced in 1966.  Check your Goldmine Price Guide for the values on this album!  My Goldmine Price Guide lists this album at $100 in NM condition!  This album is highly collectible and a great find for you vinyl collectors.  Note that Steve Cropper (guitarist, songwriter, producer) just recently produced a tribute album to this group.  Steve Cropper is very well known in the music world.  He was an original member of Booker T and the MG's, was a member of the Stax records house band and played on many Stax hits, such as those by Otis Redding, Rufus Thomas, etc.  He was also a member of the Blues Brothers band and played on their albums and appeared in their movies.  There are many very significant songs on this album.  The Five Royals did "Think" before James Brown did it.  They did "Dedicated to the One I Love" before the Shirelles or the Mamas and the Papas did it.  There are many good songs on this album (see list below).  The cover has very minor condition issues which is the reason for the album being priced at a discount to the NM price.  The front has some loss of color in small areas (see pic).  The top seam and the spine are intact and in very good condition, and the bottom seam is split.  The back has minor discoloration due to the age of it.  The vinyl has very good sheen, with minimal surface marks ~ The labels are also in very good condition.  Please note that I am not a "pro" vinyl collector and do not know exactly how the condition is graded.  If you have any questions as to the cover or the vinyl, e-mail me and I'll answer as accurately as I can and/or send pictures to you.
