This is the first press, some say, of this single. Castil #101. I have seen 1967 and 1968 as release years, I would think it was 1967 as everything else in the box I found this in was pressed in that year. It looks like the Allied version was pressed at Monarch in 1967. This is an early band of Simon Stokes, although the label credits S. Stoke as the songwriter on the A side. The B side, Marching Lovers is co written by Morton Downey Jr, and supposedly he is 'singing" on that side. Unfortunately this record was in the box dirty and without a sleeve. It shows some rubbing marks, and plays a bit noisily. You can hear it below. The label is in surprisingly great shape considering it might have been out of a sleeve for almost 50 years. I will score this a 5 for vinyl, no one should say it's over graded, there are just too many rubbing marks, but the vinyl is very shiny, and might have been unplayed until I recorded it for the listing. And it is vinyl, not styrene. The labels are gorgeous, especially considering how it was stored. Each side has C101-A or B STAMPED in the deadwax. They also have an H stamped on the other side of the record fromthe C-101. Both sides have CASTIL hand etched in the vinyl, with the B-side Castil having a scratch out with one of the letters. Both sides also have JC hand etched into the dead wax. This is a fun garage/psych record. Listen to it below.
