Description
JOHN GRIFFIN, celebrated Irish Flautist, "The Fifth Avenue Bus Man," plays the reel, "THE GIRL I LEFT BEHIND ME" and a medley of jigs, "THE GAP OF DUNLOW" - "THREE LAKES." He's a fine musician, very snappy and on-point. Pianist Paddy Muldoon backs him up. Gotta hand it to Central Casting, coming up with a generic Irish name like "Paddy Muldoon."
This record came from the collection of Folk Music historian HOWARD FELDMAN. That's his handwriting in the corner of the sleeve.
This original 1924 Gennett 5526 is in stunning EE+ condition. It plays wonderfully. VERY seldom do Gennetts turn up in such fine shape!
