This is NOT the newer Rhino Records version, this is the 1990 Rough Trade edition.     How did this band, and their only (debut) album released, fly so far under the US radar? This album is SO good (though I must admit, when I first heard it on CD, I didn't love it, but now? Oh yeah lol, GREAT record). The two main members of this band are ROBERT SMITH of THE CURE (guitar and vocals on 2 tracks), and STEVEN SEVERIN from Siouxsie and the Banshees (keyboards and bass). Because Robert Smith was under a contract that wouldn't allow him to be the main singer in a band other than The Cure, and having left his guitar playing with Banshees for a year or so, he got together with Severin and they got Jeanette Landray from the band ZOO to sing vocals on the majority of the tracks (she was the former girlfriend of Budgie, the drummer with the Banshees, who had also left his main band to form the band The Creatures with Siouxsie Sioux, The Creatures being another lesser know band from the 80's goth scene that was just AWESOME). Back in the days when bands were very incestuous.     This copy is in fine shape, with gorgeous BLUE VINYL that I'm hard pressed to see any marks on, and it sounds fantastic (I've just listened to it...TWICE lol, its that good), and the LP is wrapped in the original LYRIC SHEET. The very cool cover is super clean and shiny, with very minor age related corner bumps / rounding. It has a very legible spine and NO splitting. Very nice copy all around of a somewhat underground classic (if you can find the 2 disc CD of this release, disc 2 has Robert Smith singing all the songs if I remember right). If you love The Cure, and Souxie and the Banshees, DONT MISS THIS GOTH CLASSIC! Excellent album and highly recommended by our store, TuesdayAfternoonVinyl.
